The commission nobody explains to buyers
Every circuit. Every cloud contract. Every license renewal. Every security tool.
The supplier pays it. Every single time. The only question is WHO collects it.
Right now, it is probably your MSP, reseller or IT consultant. You spend months scoping the project. You build the business case. You get it approved. Then your MSP registers the deal with the vendor and collects a commission on YOUR work. On top of that, they add margin to the services they wrap around it.
You did the work. The commission went to a middleman.
The old way
Your MSP or consultant registers the deal
1. You scope, justify and approve the project.
2. MSP registers it with the vendor in their name.
4. MSP adds margin to services on top.
What you keep
$0
The RFP way
Your reseller registers the deal
You register the project first
1. You scope, justify and approve the project.
2. Your reseller registers it with the vendor in their name.
3. The reseller collects the supplier commission, and often adds services markup on top.
What you keep
The commission
Suppliers budget a channel commission into their pricing whether or not a partner is involved. Go direct and the supplier keeps it as margin. Go through a reseller and they keep it, often with services markup stacked on top. Register with us and the same commission, at the supplier’s published partner rate, is paid to you or your company. Nothing is added to your price.*
Most
enterprise IT spend categories pay a supplier commission. Connectivity, cloud, UCaaS, CCaaS, colocation, security, SaaS.
8 to 20%
of monthly billing is the typical residual, paid for the contract term and, with most suppliers, on renewal.
$0
added to your price. The supplier charges the same whether a commission is paid or not.
*Rates are the supplier’s published partner program rates, confirmed to you in writing before you sign. Some suppliers reduce residuals on renewal; we disclose exceptions up front.
How it works
We do not sell you anything. You keep your vendors, your negotiations and your timeline. The only thing that changes is where the commission lands.
1
Before you talk to a single vendor. Category and rough timeline now. Company name at registration, shared only with the suppliers you shortlist.
Before you talk to a single vendor. Company, category, rough timeline. Takes two minutes.
2
Run your process your way
Same vendors. Same RFP. Same negotiations. We never get between you and the supplier.
3
Get the backup you need
Sales engineers, negotiators and procurement support on call so the project moves faster. Optional, always.
4
Get paid on everything
Every contract you procure under your registration. Including every renewal. Evergreen, for as long as the contract lives.
What you get
We get paid by the supplier only when your project closes well. So our job is simple: help you run it quickly and successfully. Use as much or as little of the bench as you want.
2 minutes. Personal email only. No sales call.
Sales engineers
Vendor-neutral technical review of every quote so you compare apples to apples.
Negotiators
We know what suppliers actually accept on price, terms and exit clauses. You decide, we push.
Procurement and contracts
Contract review, renewal tracking and paperwork handled so your team stays on the project, not the admin.
Fully disclosed
You get a one page disclosure letter for Finance or Legal, and you choose whether the commission is paid to you or your company. We recommend disclosing, every time.
The numbers
Most IT contracts run 36 months and renew. A registered deal pays its residual for the whole term and, with most suppliers, on every renewal after that.
Some suppliers add a one time bonus on top. We confirm the exact rate and any bonus in writing before you sign anything.
Example: VoIP / UCaaS (think Zoom or RingCentral)
500 seats at $25 per seat. A $12,500 per month phone system on a 36 month term at a 10% supplier residual.
Monthly commission (10%)
$1,250 per month
Over the first 36 months
$45,000
On renewal
$1,250 a month keeps going
One time bonus (some suppliers, up to 4x monthly bill)
up to $50,000
Exact rate and bonus
Confirmed in writing first
Illustration using published partner rates. Your price does not change. Bonuses vary by supplier and are never guaranteed.
Who is behind this
Built by channel people, not a faceless portal.
Request for Pricing is operated by RFP Partners LLC, founded by Gabe and Alana Haney in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. [YEARS] years in the IT channel. Previously built and sold CloudZen Partners, an IT consulting firm acquired in 2025.
RFP Partners is not an MSP and is a separate company from any reseller or consulting firm. We do not sell hardware, licenses or managed services, and we never add margin. We are the registration layer that points the supplier’s commission to you.
How the money flows
Commissions are paid by suppliers through the same technology distributors (TSDs) your reseller uses: [TSD PARTNER NAMES]. We register your project with them and direct the payout to you or your company.
What we never do
Sell you anything. Add margin. Share your details with anyone except the suppliers you shortlist. Push a vendor because it pays more.
Proof
Program launched 2026. Commission statements and references are shared with registrants on request, before you sign.
Questions IT leaders ask
Yes, when it is disclosed. Supplier commissions are a standard, documented part of the IT channel. The only question is who the supplier pays. We give you a one page disclosure letter for Finance or Legal, and you decide whether the commission goes to you or to your company. We recommend disclosing, every time. Check your company policy; many allow it, some require the company to be the payee.
Register your project
Your MSP can still deliver the services. Registration only changes who the supplier pays the commission to. Two minutes now covers every renewal for years.
✓
No cost, no commitment, no sales call
✓
